The objective of these courses is to teach well control competency to drillers and others requiring a Fundamental Level certification. A secondary objective is to prepare participants for the IADC WellSharp exams. Certification is given for Surface or Combined Surface and Subsea. BOP equipment, kick detection, shut-in procedures, kill sheets, and methods of well control will be taught. The simulator work in the course focuses on detecting kicks, and closing in the well, and handling an assortment of simulated problems.
The candidates will gain theoretical knowledge about well control and master practical skills necessary to apply the theoretical knowledge in blowout prevention and well control. At the end of this course, delegates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with an understanding of the simulation practical assessment, written examination in equipment, principles and procedures associated with rotary drilling well control in preparation for IADC WellSharp testing at Introductory, Fundamental or Supervisory Level. The successful candidate will be issued with a certificate valid for 5 years in case of Introductory & 2 years in case of Fundamental & Supervisory.
The objective of this course is to teach well control competency to Floorman, Roustabout, Derrickman, Assistant Drillers, Drillers, Tool Pushers, OIMs, Wellsite Supervisors, Superintendents, and Engineers etc.. A secondary objective is to prepare participants for the IADC WellSharp certification exams. Certification can be taken for Surface or Combined Surface and Subsea. BOP equipment, drilling fluids, barrier management, kick detection, shut-in procedures, kill sheets, various methods of well control, and organizing a well control operation are all taught in this course. Behavior- Based Safety (BBS), is often described as a bottom- up approach (front-line employees), with top-down support from safety leaders. A behavior-based safety approach promotes interventions that are people-focused and often incorporate one-to-one or group observations of employees performing routine work tasks, setting goals carefully and giving timely feedback on safety-related behavior, coaching and monitoring.
After completing this course:-
Employees will be committed to achieving a Total Safety Culture through a positive attitude towards teamwork, training, and participation. Safety should be a core value, not simply a priority to be compromised by any business objective. This can be accomplished by utilizing communication and feedback to achieve a common goal.
